EV Charging Installation & Service

Charging an electric vehicle at home beats stopping at charging stations. We install Level 2 chargers that fully charge overnight - and handle commercial Level 3 DC fast charger installations for businesses. Every installation includes proper circuit sizing, wiring to code, and passing inspection.

Level 2 Home Charger Installation

Level 2 chargers run on 240V (like your dryer) and add 20-30 miles of range per hour. That's a full charge overnight for most EVs. We install the circuit, mount the charger, and test everything.

  • • 40-50 amp dedicated circuit installation
  • • #6 or #8 wire from panel to charger location
  • • Charger mounting (garage wall or post)
  • • NEMA 14-50 outlet or hardwired connection
  • • Proper grounding and GFCI protection
  • • Works with Tesla, ChargePoint, JuiceBox, etc.

Commercial Charging Stations

Businesses, apartments, and hotels are adding EV charging. We install Level 2 stations for fleet vehicles or customer use - properly sized for multiple vehicles charging simultaneously.

  • • Multi-unit charging installations
  • • Load management systems
  • • Networked charging stations
  • • ADA-compliant installations
  • • Weatherproof equipment and wiring
  • • Future expansion planning

Level 3 DC Fast Charging

DC fast chargers can add 100+ miles in 20 minutes - but require serious electrical infrastructure. These are commercial installations requiring three-phase power and utility coordination.

  • • Service upgrade assessment
  • • Three-phase power installation
  • • 100+ amp dedicated circuits
  • • Utility transformer coordination
  • • Commercial-grade equipment mounting
  • • Complete permitting and inspection

Charger Repairs & Service

Charger not working? We troubleshoot electrical issues, repair connections, and replace damaged equipment. Most charger problems are electrical, not the unit itself.

  • • Circuit and breaker testing
  • • Connection and wiring repairs
  • • GFCI troubleshooting
  • • Charger unit replacement
  • • Power supply diagnostics
  • • Upgrade older charger installations

Do You Need a Panel Upgrade?

Adding a 50-amp EV charger circuit to a 100-amp panel that's already near capacity won't work. We check your panel load before installation and recommend upgrades if needed.

Most homes built in the last 20 years have 200-amp service and can handle an EV charger without upgrades. Older homes with 100-amp service usually need a panel upgrade - which we can do at the same time as the charger installation.

What's Involved in Installation

Step 1: Site Assessment

We check your panel capacity, measure wire run distance, and determine the best charger location. If you haven't bought a charger yet, we'll recommend options based on your vehicle and budget.

Step 2: Electrical Work

We run a dedicated 40-50 amp circuit from your panel to the charger location. This might mean fishing wire through walls, running conduit in the garage, or trenching underground for exterior installations.

Step 3: Charger Installation & Testing

We mount the charger, make connections, test everything, and show you how it works. Most installations are done in 4-6 hours.

Step 4: Inspection (if required)

Some jurisdictions require permits for EV charger installations. We pull permits when needed and handle the inspection.
